Ximena is a Mexican cinematographer and an active member of the Mexican Academy of Film Arts and Sciences (AMACC). She was nominated for the 2025 Ariel Awards in the category of Best Documentary Short Film for her multi-awarded short Pequeños Zorros (Mutsk Wuäjxtë’), and photographed the 16mm short film Azul, nominated for Best Fiction Short Film at the 2026 Ariel Awards.

She studied cinematography at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC) in Mexico City and holds a Master’s Degree in Cinematography from ESCAC, Barcelona. In 2026, she was selected for the international mentorship program of the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC Vision Mentorship).

She was awarded the FONCA Young Creators Grant in Mexico in the Documentary category, and participated in the international artistic laboratory BASS in Barcelona.

She works as a Director of Photography across fiction, documentary, music videos and commercials, shooting digitally and on 16mm and 35mm film. She also has extensive experience as a camera operator, including work with remote camera systems and handwheels. Her career began in the camera department, working for companies such as Netflix, Disney, ViX, Paramount and Amazon, among others.
